Situated in the grounds of Maunsel house, North Newton is Maunsel Ponds. This a complex of 3 ponds. Lake 1 has been recently dredged and restocked with Bream, Tench, Carp, Roach, Rudd and Perch, It has also been stocked with a large number of Crucian Carp. Lake 2 is predominantly a carp lake, with carp to over 30lbs . lake 2 also contains some nice tench and some huge perch. The other is Lodge Lake which is soon to undergo improvements.
How to get there:
To get to this venue you take the Glastonbury road (A361) from Taunton, take your first left after you have crossed the canal at durston. Keep on this road, cross over the canal again at Maunsel lock. Keep on this road for approx 1/2 a mile until you come to brickyard farm on your left. The entrance to the lakes is on your right (signposted)
